Grew up near the Greenfield and Joy Rd Daly in Detroit, and used to cruise Dalys, Speedys on Greenfield and Big Boys at Grand River and Greenfield regularly in the early 60s. Great memories in a red MG convertible eating melted cheese and chilis (now you can them Chee Chee Burgers) wrapped in wax paper for 29 cents. Now I still frequent the Livonia Dalys with my 86 year old Mom and 43 year old son: 3 generations HOOKED!

My wife, Kathy and I enjoyed the Daly's on Wayne road. Great food all around, especially foot longs with everything. My wife loved Barney's cooking. Her Mom went to school with him. Shakes are great too!

I've been going to the Daly's on Plymouth Rd in Livonia since about 1973 (I graduated from Bentley HS in 1976). I've been living in Georgia since 1985 and when I come home to visit, Daly's is one place I go at least once. I'm really glad you are still there. Memories for sure...

I lived at 5 points in Romulus so I was right by the one in Romulus on Huron River Dr. I just loved the Daily Burger, Shakes and Daly Dog. The Daly Burger Sauce and the Chili are the greatest. I just visted Michigan from Tennessee and I went and took my family straight to Livonia to Daly's My family loved it.

This institution was a part of growing up in Livonia. From my paper route days, we would go on Saturday morning after paying our bill and have a burger or foot long, fries and a malt for $1.14, almost a third of our weekly profits. Then of course there was the cruising days as we grew older. Dalys to Big Boys and back. Pretty harmless stuff and gasoline was about .25 gallon. Got to meet a lot of people and saw some awesome cars.

Westland Daly's was about to open. A sign posted on the old Shedd's Drive-in said, "Coming soon Daly's Drive-in. Don't eat till then."
If you ate the Daly Double you got your name posted on a board. Mine is there. A friend challenged me saying, "You eat it, I'll buy it." I took the challenge and finished it. I had to, I had no money to pay for it.

Grew up in Detroit, moved to Livonia in '54. Went to Bentley HS and visited the Daly's almost daily! The idea was to wolf down as many foot-longs as you could. Great sport! When I got a car, me and the guys would cruise all the Daly's. The Plymouth Rd. one opened in '59 and then the cruisin' and foot-long contests got very serious. Great, great memories! Foot-longs, monster sundaes, the cruising and the car-hop babes. Nothin' better!

Going to Beech Daly's for a dalyburger and the best milk shake in the world. When back in MI, we go to the Livonia one each year! Love that the sauce is now bottled...wish shipping was more reasonable. Thankfully family visits in FL often enough to get a Dalyburger fix!

I was attending high school at Wayne Memorial in Wayne, Mich. We would go out for lunch and go to Dalys for the Daly foot long and onion rings. So good. My brother lives in Maryland. When he comes to Michigan, he has to have the daly habit.
