Westland Daly's was about to open. A sign posted on the old Shedd's Drive-in said, "Coming soon Daly's Drive-in. Don't eat till then."

If you ate the Daly Double you got your name posted on a board. Mine is there. A friend challenged me saying, "You eat it, I'll buy it." I took the challenge and finished it. I had to, I had no money to pay for it.

Grew up in Detroit, moved to Livonia in '54. Went to Bentley HS and visited the Daly's almost daily! The idea was to wolf down as many foot-longs as you could. Great sport! When I got a car, me and the guys would cruise all the Daly's. The Plymouth Rd. one opened in '59 and then the cruisin' and foot-long contests got very serious. Great, great memories! Foot-longs, monster sundaes, the cruising and the car-hop babes. Nothin' better!

Going to Beech Daly's for a dalyburger and the best milk shake in the world. When back in MI, we go to the Livonia one each year! Love that the sauce is now bottled...wish shipping was more reasonable. Thankfully family visits in FL often enough to get a Dalyburger fix!

I was attending high school at Wayne Memorial in Wayne, Mich. We would go out for lunch and go to Dalys for the Daly foot long and onion rings. So good. My brother lives in Maryland. When he comes to Michigan, he has to have the daly habit.

I had my first Daly burger in 2009. Loved it!!! Days later, I happened to mention Daly's in a conversation with my mother. I found out my father took my mom to Daly's on their first date... after seeing The Sound of Music. So, I'll be our family's next generation to create Daly memories.

I lived on the Eastside of Detroit in the early 70's and had fond memories of my parents taking us to the Daly at Cadieux and Harper. Recently while in Livonia I was able to return to my youth and experience the long over due taste of a Daly Burger! Some experiences and businesses fade with time but I hope Daly will not be one of them!

We have been coming to Daly's since the 70's. We use to go to the Daly's in Plymouth. Now the Livonia one. Love the Ft. long Daly Dog and the Daly burger with the special sauce. Our son who lives in Florida always comes with us when he is in town. Thanks for the great food. We drive from Saline, MI to eat .

I grew up in Plymouth and would visit the Daly's on Ann Arbor Rd. and Main. It was a part of our lives in Plymouth. I love in Florida now so I always make a point to come to Livonia to get a Dalyburger with special sauce!

I lived and grew up one block from the Daly's on Dix in Licoln Park, Mi...I now live in Florida. I can remember my dad going to Daly's for a big pig trough banana split. He would eat the whole thing. I always loved the Daly burgers and still do. When we are visiting our children in Michigan we always go to the Livonia store. I hope they never close down like all the others. If I am not mistaken, I think they are the only one left!
