When I was little we would go to Daly's in Romulus after going to Dr. Everingham's office. Then as we got older, my sisters got jobs at Kelsey Hayes, which wasn't far from Daly's...so my mom would drop them off in the summer and I'd go along for the ride...and a hot dog.

Oh my gosh! Daly's at Grand River and Burt in Detroit holds an indelible spot in my memories, ca. late-60s thru mid-70s: Peaches the car hop, bless her sweet heart; Pat the car hop (and the night she threw money); Carol the bouffonte cook. The "lot" was our social epicenter. We know who we are, how much fun we had, and what we drove: multiple Vettes, Torino, Camaro, Trans Am, Carmengia, MG, Datsun, Biscayne, Tempist, Falcon (2), VW convertable, Vega, Firebird, Impala, The Bird Catcher, and the list goes on. Good times. What happened at Daly's stayed at Daly's. Good clean fun. Big smiles.

My heart was broken, visiting the Main street Plymouth Daly recently to show my 15 yr old daughter where mama's first job was I discovered it was gone!!!!I worked there inside as a waitress in 79-80 . I grew up eating at the beech daly store. I've moved to Ga. but Daly is still part of my family!

I can remember Mr Bill Ihlenfeldt back in 1955 when My Dad and I use to come to Dalys On Beech Daly Rd. He was a wonderful man and always treated Dad and I like we were family. We would stop in after racing my 1/4 midget I was 9 years old... I remember one evening eating my first Pigs Dinner, By golly I finished too... It was a chore... Only 75 cents. Of course Bill praised me for my defeating the Dinner. And another customer gave me a quarter.. I now live in Pickerington Ohio, But I am still have the Daly habit. I use to live in West dearborn at the time and will always remember my friend Bill who passed away in 1972... Thanks for the memories.

I worked at the Daly in Dearborn Hgts. for 8 years, it was my first job. I had so much fun. Bill was a great boss and a great person. I seen someone tried to revive the old resteraunt but it closed again soon after. I wish it would reopen again, the food was awesome. I think I'll have to visit the plymouth road store tonight. Thanks for the great memories.

I grew up just a block and a half from the Daly's in Dearborn Heights (on Beech Daly Rd) and I loved it! Whenever I am home visiting I make the trip out to the Plymouth Road location to get my "fix". When I was a kid my sister worked at the Dearborn Hts. location as a carhop; I used to bug her to bring me home a Daly Burger almost every day. She was also teased by the other girls for putting chili on her fries...hmmmm...aren't they a menu staple now? Keep up the good work and I will be there in two weeks to get my fix!

My mom graduated from Redford High School in '61, so, I guess that's when she started going to the Daly Drive-In at Burt Rd. and Grand River. I remember getting my foot long off window tray, and thinking how cool that was! I always visit the last remaining Daly when I'm visiting from Tokyo. Got my Daly ceramic coffee cup this time!!

My wife, Kathy, and I met at the Livonia Daly's (I guess I picked her up) in the summer of '67. We married on June 20, 1969 and will be celebrating our 40th anniversary this Saturday. We have lived in the Dallas area since '91 but return to Daly's when we are in MI while visiting family/friends.
