To Tom Petho, Daly's was on the west side of Greenfield just north of Joy Rd. I remember it well, received my first traffic ticket in 1964 for leaving the restaurant too quickly, excessive noise (squealing tires).

Lived near Grand River and Southfield and used to go to the Daly's at Greenfield and Plymouth or Joy, not sure which. Loved the che-che with onions. Been to the one at Merriman and Plymouth and the che-che hasn't changed, love it.

Went to the Plymouth & Beech-Daly rd. drive-in my last memory of being there w/Redford high school friend Darlene Muscat we both had the original Daly burgers and fries always delic. then we needed to leave so she could get her Mom's 1958 "white Cadillac convertible" home on time well "guess what" car wouldn't turn over so had to get it towed to local gas station, mechanics still available in that year of 1959 thank goodness. Problem...."outta gas" scared then can laugh now!!

Daly's #2 was where I grew up! I remember when they had to block the entrances on the alley to keep us from cruisin' in 64 and 65. Glad to see one still open, next time home I'm going! Didn't see chee-chee burgers on the menu though!

I was a carhop/ waitress at Daly's #3 on Grand River in Detroit for 3 years in the '70s while I was in high school and college summers. My sister worked there first and I started as soon as I turned 16. I remember the regulars who came to the drive-in: a family that ordered one coke for mom and dad, and one shake and a large fries for the 4 kids in the bacl. The cops getting large coffess with exactly 2 ice cubes. My boyfriends would also pull in- one night my old boyfriend showed up to plead his case, with my newer boyfriend also on the lot. As long as they made an order, I could spend some time at their cars. I preferred the car hop booth- and the full timers staffed the inside booths- but it got pretty cold in the winter!

Daly #9 near Rouge Park We lived on Braile Street, just up the road from this Dalys. My sisters were 4 and 5 years older than me, but we all enjoyed eating their food! We also frequented the Roller Rink and small Fair located in that same area. We moved away in 1968, but my sister still talks about Daly Burgers!

I just had my first daly dog and daly burger in over 20 years today!...I used to go to the one on Warren & Outer Drive, I thought it burned down but it was the roller rink next door!, so after that I would frequent the one on Beech Daly in Dearborn Heights till that one closed!..I thought, what the heck is going on?, why are they all closing?...I can't remember how I discovered the only one remaining back then but I just had a tasteing fot Daly's today and brought 20 bucks with me!!...By the way, I'm going to make some of that sauce which is ketchup, relish and onions, this summer when I'm grilling my own version of the Daly Burger, can't wait!

My mom worked at #5 in the `60's. I would go to work with her on Saturdays. I used to go skating at the Rollerdome during the lunch rush & come back to Dalys for a burger & a cherry coke.

OMG, can't believe there is a Daly's open. Use to frequent the one next to the Rouge Park Rollerdrome on Warren Ave. during the 50's. Grew up on Lamphere about 5 blocks away from it. Will be ordering a burger soon from the Plymouth Road restaurant.

Nobody has mentioned the Daly's on Dix at Outer Drive in Lincoln Park. That was the one I went to in the 50's. My grandparents lived on Outer Drive, and my aunt would take me and my sister there for Daly Burgers and delicious milkshakes. Great memories!

I saw a post about Dailys on 5mile in Redford. I remember well. I was in HS and worked at a place down the street - Bob's Bike Shop. We would head over to Dailys every Sat. for a foot long and pop. It's gone now. This was in the early 70's.
I thought about this when someone elsewhere brought up Dailys on Warren near the old roller-rink on outer drive and warren.

Ummmm is this still about Daly's Drive-in??? I met my husband there. Jo Ann was the manager at the Livonia Daly's for many years. Most of my husband's family worked there at one time or another. Both Sue and I worked at the Liv and the Ply locations over the years. I even still worked at the Plymouth one when the Grace's closed back in 2000. Many, Many fond memories! Our youngest son is even named Dale, he's our Daly habit!
